More Opportunities to Learn Through Play

At Wonderland Childcare & Kinder, learning happens through play, relationships and meaningful everyday experiences. Our weekly in-house learning enrichment programs give children even more opportunities to build confidence, practice new skills and discover what they enjoy, all within the familiar and warm environment of our Doncaster childcare center.

Delivered by our own Early Childhood Teachers and experienced educators, these programs include early mathematics, language learning, music and movement, creative arts, and nature-based Bush Kinder & experiences. Each session is thoughtfully adapted to suit children’s ages, interests and developmental stages, from children under three through to Pre-Kinder and Kinder.

They are part of Wonderland’s all-inclusive approach to early childhood education, supporting the whole child without families needing to organise separate activities outside care.

Early Numeracy

Little Learners Mathematics

Building early numeracy through playful, age-appropriate learning

Each week, children enjoy a dedicated 15-minute mathematics session in their room, delivered by Misun, our Kinder Teacher. Rather than treating maths as a formal classroom subject, Misun introduces foundational concepts through playful themes and engaging experiences suited to each age group.

  • Counting and recognising quantities
  • Early addition and subtraction
  • Opposites, patterns and comparisons
  • Foundational concepts woven into games and everyday play

Little Learners Mathematics helps children become comfortable and curious around numbers. These positive early experiences support confidence, logical thinking and a strong foundation for future learning and school readiness .

  • Counting from one to ten
  • Colours
  • Everyday words used during play and familiar routines

Repetition, music and meaningful interaction help children develop early language awareness in a way that feels natural and enjoyable. The program also encourages curiosity about language and culture, reflecting Wonderland’s welcoming, multicultural learning environment .

Little Beats Club

Music, rhythm and movement led by a longstanding Wonderland educator

Little Beats Club is delivered each week by SukJin, one of our longstanding educators with more than 20 years of experience. Her warm, energetic sessions introduce children to the joy of music while encouraging them to participate, move and express themselves with confidence.

  • Different musical instruments and the sounds they make
  • Beat, rhythm and movement
  • Singing and group participation
  • Musical games and dance activities

Through music and movement, children can strengthen coordination, listening, self-expression and social participation. Most importantly, Little Beats Club gives children a lively, playful space to enjoy making music together.

Little Artists Club

Creative freedom, confidence and sustainable art experiences

Little Artists Club is delivered each week by Nikki, one of our dedicated educators with eight years of experience. Children are given a warm, open space to experiment, follow their ideas and express themselves through art.

  • Cutting and pasting
  • Painting and drawing
  • Creating with recyclable and repurposed materials
  • Open-ended projects inspired by children’s own imaginations

Aligned with our centre’s sustainability practices, children learn that everyday materials can be reused and transformed into something special. Along the way, they develop creativity, confidence, fine motor skills and problem-solving through hands-on discovery.

  • Curiosity and discovery
  • Sensory exploration
  • Respect and appreciation for the natural environment
  • Confidence and independence in outdoor settings
