Wonderland was established in 2006 by ambitious and caring family. The owners Betty and Phil have invested their energy, time, effort, love and financial resources to make Wonderland a true wonderland for children, families, and educators.
Over the past 18 years, the centre has undergone significant changes. In 2014, major renovations were carried out, allowing the centre to expand and accommodate 77 children per day. Today, Wonderland has become a cultural melting pot, where families of all backgrounds feel included and welcomed, regardless of their cultural heritage or home language. We respect and integrate the unique child-rearing practices of each family into our daily routines.
Throughout the year, families have the opportunity to participate in Wonderland’s community events including Lunar New Year, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day as well as Christmas. These events are a wonderful chance for everyone to come together, enjoy performances by the children, and share in their joy and excitement.
We strive to provide a safe and stimulating, caring and challenging environment for every child in our care to develop a positive self-esteem, confidence, curiosity and creative expression and respect for their families, peers and themselves through child-focused planned activities and experiences.
Wonderland Childcare and Kinder is a privately owned long day care centre for children from 6 months to 6 years old. It is conveniently located at 6 High St, Doncaster that is adjacent to the North Eastern Jewish Centre; but we are NOT affiliated with any religious organsiations. We are located just off the Doncaster Road exit of the Eastern Freeway. It is also only 1 minute walk from the Doncaster Park & Ride. We are independent of any religious organisation and welcome all families of different cultural or ethnic background.
Licensed and Qualified
Wonderland is a licensed and approved long day care centre from the Department of Education and Training to enrol a maximum of 77 children per day. We are also accredited by the Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority to meet all quality areas requirements from the National Quality Framework.
Qualified Educators
All Wonderland educators are employed with current Working with Children Check, first aid, anaphylaxis and asthma training. Our educators hail from various continents, enriching the multicultural experiences at Wonderland by collectively speaking over 10 different languages. This diversity is particularly helpful when children are just starting their journey with us and might feel a bit unsettled initially.
All of our kindergarten teachers are qualified with a University Degree (or equivalent) in Early Childhood that are registered teachers in the Victoria Institute of Teaching.

All preschool children are eligible to enrol to our Kindergarten Program approved and funded by the Department of Education and Training.
Hot meals are prepared daily by our qualified Centre Chef to suit children with different dietary needs and religious and cultural backgrounds. Additionally we serve breakfast, morning and afternoon tea, and late snacks for all children. It is the belief of our Centre that good nutrition is vital to the health of young children and we aim to offer a balanced diet based on the 5 food groups as per The Australian Guide to Healthy Eating.
Our Centre operating hours are Monday to Friday 7:00am to 6:30pm, all year round including school holidays except public holidays.
